ABOUT THE DESTINATION

India's Royal Desert State

Rajasthan sits along India's northwestern border, where the Thar Desert meets the Aravalli hills — a land ruled for centuries by Rajput kings who built forts on every hilltop and palaces on every lake. In one state you get the Pink City of Jaipur, the Blue City of Jodhpur, the Golden City of Jaisalmer, and the White City of Udaipur, each with its own colour and character.

It's a state that never stopped performing its own history. Camel carts still cross the dunes near Jaisalmer, folk musicians still play at palace courtyards, and the food — rich with ghee, lentils and desert spice — carries centuries of royal kitchens behind it. Locals simply call it what it has always been: the Land of Kings.
